Greenan Road, with housebuilders MacMic Group is the creation of three bespoke dwellings by the Ayrshire coastline.

The proposal includes the residential development of the site, arranged to respond to both the existing rural context and challenging infrastructure networks. Three bespoke homes are created with a contemporary interpretation of the local vernacular and sensitive landscaping. The site, situated along a prominent coastline, presents the opportunity for dramatic sea views and quality architecture and design.

Each building takes cues from traditional pitched gable dwellings, creating three volumes of various volumes and materiality. The dwellings have been arranged in harmony along the street, rotated as appropriate to respond to the existing context and opening towards the coast.

Material choice throughout the proposal has been informed by a study of the surrounding context, it’s tonal palette, texture and format. Key tones have been isolated to define a material palette that is sensitive but contemporary.
