Coatbridge Retail Park

A redevelopment of the Quadrant Shopping Centre to maximise lettable retail area and introduce a glazed façade.

The proposed arrangement of the centre occupies the site to its maximum capacity to provide the most efficient plan possible whilst maximising the potential for future flexibility. The resulting form results in a significant increase in lettable area, with each unit opened to the pedestrian approach with a large glazed façade.

Efficiency in the plan maximised lettable area and potential for future flexibility.

A sheltered walkway along the display frontages allows pedestrians a relaxed threshold into the retail units whilst being removed from the car park, greatly increasing safety and reducing disruption to deliveries. Rationalization of the levels in the car park allow the full frontage of the centre to be level access, further activating the shop fronts. At high level the proposed façade allows for clear and consistent signage display for the retailers, with incorporated signage lighting. Doorways to individual units are covered so as to provide protection from the weather.
